CONTACT INFORMATION $2 Million in Investments Fuel Growth for Sightline Health Long-term goals include geographic and technological expansion. HOUSTON, May 29, 2007—SightLine Health, a health care services company that brings patients access to emerging technology, has secured an additional $2 million in financing. “As our MR-guided focused ultrasound ablation (MRgFUS) clinics become well established in key markets, we are looking toward broader geographic expansion,” said TJ Farnsworth, the chairman and CEO of SightLine. “Long-term, we also will explore ways to make other new technologies available to patients who need them. This latest round of financing illustrates investor confidence in SightLine’s vision and its team.” Atlantic Health Group, a privately held health care facility development and management firm, invested $1.75 million, while the remaining $250,000 came from an individual investor. “SightLine represents a convergence of two trends transforming health care delivery: innovative technology and outpatient accessibility,” said Atlantic’s chief executive officer Jerry Mee. “Health care today is being shaped by effective, noninvasive procedures that can be performed conveniently outside the hospital setting and that enable patients to return to normal activities quickly. Our backing of SightLine, therefore, is an investment in the future of health care.” To date, SightLine has established some of the nation’s first clinics providing MRgFUS, which uses focused ultrasound waves to destroy abnormal tissues. MRgFUS has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a noninvasive, radiation-free treatment for uterine fibroids, the leading cause of the roughly 600,000 hysterectomies performed in the United States each year. Focused ultrasound technology currently is being studied for treating tumors and other illnesses as well. The company operates clinics in Houston and Dallas, and has plans to open a third facility in Atlanta. About SightLine Health About Atlantic Health Group |
