SightLine Health Welcomes Jeff Hagmeier to Board of Directors

Established entrepreneurial executive brings more than 19 years of diverse leadership experience.

HOUSTON, January 26, 2006—SightLine Health, one of the few health care companies in the nation using FDA-approved and MR-guided focused ultrasound ablation (MRgFUS), announced today that Jeff Hagmeier has joined its board of directors. Currently, SightLine is applying the noninvasive technology to treat uterine fibroids, and plans to expand its application to the treatment of other tumors and conditions once these applications are approved by the FDA.

Hagmeier, the former president and chief executive officer of RadVault, has more than 19 years of experience as an entrepreneurial executive with a wide variety of businesses, from startups to organizations with budgets in excess of a billion dollars. Currently, Hagmeier is serving as an advisor to domestic and offshore private equity groups. and high tech companies, including UAI. He also serves on the board of directors for Assist One Technologies and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors

“I have worked with businesses across many market sectors, but the opportunity to serve on the board of directors for SightLine Health is especially exciting because of its amazing technology and its unlimited growth potential,” said Hagmeier. “I believe MRgFUS has the power to revolutionize modern medicine and the way many illnesses are treated.”

MRgFUS is unique because it is noninvasive, virtually painless, and has few side effects. The ExAblate technology was developed by InSightec, and uses a combination of MRI and high intensity focused ultrasound to identify and treat conditions such as fibroids and tumors. MRgFUS is an outpatient treatment and, because of its accuracy, can provide treatment without damaging any surrounding tissue. Currently, MRgFUS is only approved by the FDA to treat uterine fibroids, but the technology is being used in FDA trials to treat other conditions.

TJ Farnsworth, SightLine Health’s CEO and president, said that adding Hagmeier to the company’s executive team will have a major effect on the company’s expansion goals.

“We are extremely excited to add someone of Jeff’s credentials. His background and resume show his ability to successfully shape new businesses and create sustainable growth,” said Farnsworth. “MRgFUS has the ability to change lives. Imagine having a painful condition treated and going to work the next day, pain-free. That is what this technology offers. Jeff’s addition will help us accomplish our goal of providing this treatment to those in need.”
